Circular 14: The Apotheosis of Aristides

The Utah Youth Orchestras and Ensembles present the world premiere of the dramatic oratorio Circular 14: The Apotheosis of Aristides by Neely Bruce

The concert, conducted by Barlow Bradford, will be held on the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2018 and highlights the inspiring true story of Aristides de Sousa Mendes, a Holocaust rescuer who saved thousands of refugee families escaping Nazi-occupied Europe in 1940.

Soloists include David Sauer, tenor; Michelle Pedersen, soprano; Andrew Neumayer, baritone; Adam Griffiths, tenor; and Elizabeth Peters, soprano. The narrator is the actor Michel Gill. Featuring the University of Utah Chamber Choir, the University of Utah A Cappella Choir, and the choirs of Syracuse High School (Syracuse), Pineview High School (St. George), American Heritage School (American Fork), Alta High School (Sandy), Westlake High School (Saratoga Springs), Woods Cross High School (Woods Cross), and Hillcrest High School (Midvale). Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams will deliver opening remarks. Tickets are required.
