Contrato para a fase II do futuro museu Sousa Mendes na Casa do Passal foi assinado

The contract for  the next phase of the much-desired project of the creation of the Sousa Mendes museum in  Casa do Passal is signed.

The signature of the construction contract by "Mayor" Paulo Catalino, PCM Carregal do Sal  took place in  Casa do Passal, in Cabanas de Viriato. 

After numerous advances and also some setbacks, the projecta has now entered a new phase that will be completed in 2023, according to every indication. 

The construction works, awarded to the company Edibest Engenharia e Construção Lda., involve an investment of €1,652,538.87 (plus VAT), 15% of which is supported by the  municipality of Carregal do Sal.  Implementation will  take 365 days. 

The signing of the document is extremely important for the Municipality, the City Council and, for the Aristides de Sousa Mendes Foundation, since it is a gigantic step towards the creation of the future museum  Aristides de Sousa Mendes.

 The friends of Aristides see the future Sousa Mendes museum as an asset in leveraging the whole of the municipality of Carregal do Sal in terms of tourism and in providing a central place in his home town Cabanas de Viriato for the dissemination of the story of Aristides de Sousa Mendes and the promotion of the values that he defended.
