A New Day for the Sousa Mendes Home

The Sousa Mendes home in Portugal, Casa do Passal, will finally get the future it deserves! The Portuguese Secretary of State for Culture, Jorge Barreto Xavier, has announced that the European Union will be allocating a further €800,000 (approximately $917,000) to the restoration and museum development project. This is great news for fans of Aristides de Sousa Mendes the world over! In turn, the Sousa Mendes Foundation has pledged an additional $50,000 from the funds we have raised towards this project.
